LINEAGE OF MIGRANT AND SEASONAL HEAD START
From first contact with the Spanish in the 1500s to the battle for civil rights in the 1960s, over 400 years of struggle culminated in a social and political climate ready to embrace programs in support of Mexicans and Latinos. In 1969, Migrant and Seasonal Head Start was established to meet the unique challenges faced by migrant agricultural families.
