40 Prado Warming Center
The Warming Center may be activated on future dates, depending on weather conditions. Warming Center activity is updated in the 211 database. Those in need can receive updates by calling 211 or texting their zip code to 898211.
The SLO City Warming Center at 40 Prado opens when either of the following criteria are met: 38 degrees and/or 50%+ chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Those needing shelter may arrive at any time during the evening; however, if someone leaves, they may not return that night. Pets are allowed in the kennel (with the exception of service animals which are allowed indoors). Smoking is allowed in the designated smoking area during regular smoking hours. Overnight guests will be provided a safe, dry place to sleep and a meal.
While the Warming Center closes at 8am, clients may access regular Day Center services beginning at 8:30am.

Sleeping bags and new blankets are very much needed!

- Disposable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils
- Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar
- Breakfast Bars
- Instant Noodle/Cup of Noodles
- Large backpacks
- New socks and warm gloves
- Rain gear/ponchos/umbrellas
