40 Prado Warming Center
Warming Center activity is updated in the 211 database. Those in need can receive updates by calling 211 or texting their zip code to 898211.
The SLO City Warming Center at 40 Prado opens when either of the following criteria are met: 38 degrees and/or 50%+ chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service. Client check-in is from 7:00pm – 9pm at 40 Prado Road.
Those needing shelter may arrive at any time during 7pm – 9pm; however, if someone leaves, they may not return that night. Pets ARE allowed. Smoking is allowed in the designated smoking area. Overnight guests will be provided a safe and dry place to sleep and a hot meal.
The Warming Center closes at 6am.
Current Donation Needs for The Warming Center
Sleeping bags and new blankets are very much needed!
- Large trash bags
- Disposable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils
- Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar
- Breakfast Bars
- Instant Noodle/Cup of Noodles
- Large backpacks
- New socks and warm gloves
- Rain gear/ponchos/umbrellas
